Seeed Studio has introduced the reTerminal E1001 and E1002, two compact ePaper displays powered by the ESP32-S3 dual-core microcontroller with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE, designed for smart dashboards and digital signage.
The difference between the two models lies in the display:
- E1001 – 7.5-inch monochrome ePaper display (800×480 resolution)
- E1002 – 7.3-inch 6-color ePaper display (800×480 resolution)
Both models are equipped with a 2,000 mAh battery (lasting up to 3 months), 32MB SPI flash, microSD card slot, microphone, buzzer, temperature & humidity sensors, 8-pin GPIO header, buttons, and LEDs.

Software & Firmware
The reTerminal E-series ships with SenseCraft HMI firmware, a no-code platform to create interactive dashboards easily.

- Developers can program using Arduino, PlatformIO, or ESP-IDF.
- Optionally, the TRMNL platform enables E Ink dashboard management (one-time $50 fee).
